Will I go home with teeth on the day of surgery?
In most cases, yes. A fixed temporary bridge is attached the same day. If an implant is not firm enough on the day to carry teeth, we tell you and the bridge goes on a little later. The final bridge replaces it after 4 to 6 months.
I was told I don't have enough bone. Can I still have All-on-4?
Often yes. The two back implants are angled into firmer bone, which avoids grafting in many cases. The CBCT scan at your consultation shows whether it will work for you, or whether grafting or another option is the better plan.
Is the surgery painful?
You are under local anaesthetic, so you feel pressure but no pain during it. Sedation is available if you are anxious. Swelling peaks on day 2 or 3 and is controlled with cold packs and the medicines we prescribe. Most people are back at work in 3 to 5 days.

Well-kept implants can last 20 years or more. The teeth on the bridge wear with use and may need repair or replacement after 10 to 15 years. Cleaning under the bridge and a check every 6 months matter most.

No. A denture rests on the gums and comes out. An All-on-4 bridge is screwed onto four implants and stays in, and you brush it in your mouth. An implant-retained overdenture sits in between: it clicks onto implants but still comes out for cleaning.
