Invisalign at Smile Dental Clinics: why patients choose us
Invisalign results depend on two things: the aligners and the doctor behind the plan.
We are an in-house certified Invisalign provider, which means your case is planned, monitored, and corrected under orthodontic supervision, not treated as a “quick cosmetic product.” Invisalign itself highlights the importance of professional support and ongoing monitoring during treatment.
Meet Dr. Rajesh (our Invisalign lead)
Dr. Rajesh is a highly respected dental expert with 33+ years of experience, exposure to practices in Europe and the U.S., and is a Professor of Orthodontics as well as a full-time, hands-on clinician who treats patients daily.
He’s a senior orthodontist for children and adults, one of the few facial orthopedists in India, a certified implantologist, and a passionate educator focused on preventive care, long-term stability, and patient clarity.
What Invisalign is (in simple words)
Invisalign uses a series of clear, custom-made aligners that gently move teeth in planned steps. Each aligner moves teeth a small amount, and over time those steps create a straighter smile and a healthier bite. Clear aligners are removable for eating and brushing, but success depends on wearing them consistently.
Sources: AAO explains aligners apply pressure over time, are removable, and require consistent wear; Invisalign describes the step-by-step aligner process and retention.
Our biggest strength: latest iTero 3D scan in-house (no guesswork)
We use the latest in-house iTero / 3D scans to plan your Invisalign. This helps us:
- capture precise digital records quickly
- plan tooth movement more predictably
- show you a clear preview direction before you commit
- monitor progress and fit with higher accuracy than messy impressions
The most important decision: do you need Invisalign, or is a cosmetic fix enough?
Here’s the simplest way to decide.
You usually need Invisalign when teeth must actually move
- visible crowding or overlap
- real gaps (not just “edge illusion”)
- tilted or rotated front teeth
- bite feels off or teeth hit unevenly
- you want a conservative path before veneers (less tooth reduction later)
- you want stability, not a surface-level change
A cosmetic fix may be enough when the issue is minor and your bite is stable
- small chips or edge issues (bonding or tooth contouring)
- colour-first concerns (Zoom whitening)
- small shape corrections (bonding)
- broader shape/colour change across multiple teeth (veneers)
AAO notes aligners treat a range of issues but are not right for everyone—case selection matters.
What Invisalign can treat
Invisalign can help with many common problems, including:
- crowded teeth
- gaps
- crooked teeth
- many bite-related alignment issues (case-dependent), such as overbite, underbite, open bite, crossbite
When Invisalign is not the best option (we will be honest)
We do not force-fit Invisalign into cases where it won’t be predictable or safe.
We may recommend a different approach if:
- gum disease or cavities must be treated first
- the bite problem is complex and braces or a combined plan is more predictable
- severe crowding needs a different path
- heavy grinding/clenching needs a protection plan to avoid relapse or wear
What happens in your Invisalign consultation
You’ll leave with clarity, not pressure:
- oral health check (gums, cavities, enamel, existing dental work)
- bite assessment and alignment evaluation
- iTero 3D scan
- discussion of what is realistic for your case
- a timeline range and key success factors
- a retention plan overview (because results must be held, not just achieved)
Wear time: what determines success
Aligners work only when worn consistently. AAO notes aligners are typically worn at least 22 hours a day, removed for eating/drinking and brushing/flossing. We’ll coach you on making this realistic in your daily routine.
Check-ins and monitoring
Invisalign isn’t “take trays and disappear.” Monitoring is part of safe tooth movement. Invisalign describes regular check-ins (commonly around every 6–8 weeks, case-dependent) to track progress and provide the next sets.
Retainers: the part that makes results last
Teeth can shift back if retention is ignored. Retainers are not optional if you want long-term stability. Invisalign also emphasizes retention after treatment (for example, via retainers).
Why Invisalign pricing varies (and why “cheaper” can be misleading)
When Invisalign is cheaper, it is often because the plan is designed for a minor cosmetic correction. The front teeth look slightly better and a patient feels “yes, it’s done.”
But patients are not experts. They cannot always judge whether the correction is truly complete, stable, and aligned with their bite and facial balance. That’s where shortcuts happen.
Our promise: we don’t use shortcuts to win the case
When you come to us, we don’t plan Invisalign as a small cosmetic patch. We plan it as orthodontic care.
That means we look at:
- bite stability and how teeth meet
- alignment across the full arch, not only the front
- long-term stability and retention
- facial balance and smile aesthetics as part of the plan
We’d rather be brutally honest and recommend the correct plan than sell a cheaper plan that only creates a small visible change.
You’ll see the difference in the digital preview
Because we use the latest in-house iTero 3D scans, you can see what’s being corrected and what isn’t, before you commit.
We’ve been doing this successfully since 1997. The years changed, our passion increased, and our technology kept upgrading.
